Gas Authority of India (GAIL) and
HSIDC have signed a Gas Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding (GCMoU)
for assessment of demand potential for developing a supply and
distribution network of natural gas and allied products in the State
of Haryana and also to utilise GAIL’s telecom infrastructure for
connectivity.
The MoU was signed in the presence of the Chief Minister, Haryana
Shri Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Shri Proshanto Banerjee, Chairman &
Managing Director, GAIL. The MoU was signed by Shri Rajeev Arora,
Managing Director on behalf of HSIDC and Dr. U.D. Chaubey, Director
(Marketing) on behalf of GAIL. Shri Lachhman Dass Arora, Industries
Minister, Haryana and senior officers from the State Government were
also present on this occasion. GAIL has drawn up plans to lay the
trunk & distribution pipeline in Haryana and to supply gas to meet
the demand of the consumers in the industrial, transport and
domestic sectors.
It will be a significant decision to partner with GAIL for meeting
the gas requirement for Power Generation, Energy requirements in
various processes from gas as fuel, Communication requirement using
GAIL’s band width capacity, long term arrangement for fuelling
energy requirement using liquid hydro carbons such as pentane,
propane etc. for areas which are modally placed vis-à-vis the gas
